If you've ever fretted over getting mouth cancer from constantly licking your brushes to remove paint, put those worries to rest! This ingenious box is designed to hold damp sponges and attach securely to your hand, allowing you to drag your brush between the sponges instead of shoving it in your dirty mouth like an animal. To get optimal results, you'll want to wet the sponges thoroughly and squeeze out 95% of the excess water. If the sponges hold too much moisture, the paint will be removed, but your brush will remain soaking wet rather than lightly damp. The ideal rubber band size for a secure attachment will vary depending on your hand size. I've also experimented with using a mixture of acrylic medium and/or flow aid to saturate the sponges instead of water, but I haven't had the chance to try it out yet. The standard size Scotch-Brite Non-Scratch sponges (114mm x 68mm x 15mm) cut into eighths worked perfectly for me. Beveling the sponge section on the exposed edge might be optional, but I'm not entirely sure how necessary it is.
