Inspired by a thrilling night at the symphony and an introduction to the ratchet percussion instrument, a noisy maker often used by football fans to cheer on their team. Laser-cut sides and a thong crafted from a tongue depressor at 1.60mm thick make up this unique musical instrument. The thong can be glued in place for added stability or left loose for a distinctive sound. Experiment with either one or two thongs installed for varying tones. Gears, handles, and caps are cut from 4.50mm plywood to complete the instrument's design. Gears can be offset or doubled up, both configurations producing exceptional results.
