noise damping

noise damping

After working for almost one year with the super silent Prusa MINI, I bought the MK3S for bigger parts. I found it to be a lot more noisy, even in silent modus. Like some I tried putting a concrete tile underneat and even a rubber mat, but the vibrations kept going to the table and the wooden enclosure. So I designed myself some damping feet. The feet just clip on the profile and are held in place with a small locking piece. There is a file for a round clip that centers the central part, to help you cast the silicon gel. I used aproximatly 100 grams total for all four dampers. the silicon is SHORE 8 in flexibility. When the silicon is dry, you can press it down a little bit, and hold it while you separate the central pin from the molding, so it can easily be attached to the printer. Then you can slide the silicon damper back on before resting te printer back on the table. The damper in the right rear can be mounted on the inside of the frame.the difference in sound level is really high . For people with more than one printer running in a small or big  print farm the drop in noice level would be very significant. If you want to use this for the mini you just need to replace one of the insert pins with one that fits in the base of electronics casing. file included.I noticed still some mechanical vibration on the MK3 that carried trough to the lcd housing, so I designed  spacers you can print in FLEX to place between the LCD housing and the printer.
