Noir Camera Mount for Ender 3
thingiverse
This is a mount and case for the ArduCam NOIR Cam with motorized IR Cut filter that I designed for personal use, but have made available as STL and STEP files for anyone who can make use of them. The case fits the camera perfectly due to its extremely precise design. Although it will be quite tight, it worked flawlessly for my setup. If you are running the ir illuminator heatsinks, you will need to make a minor trim with an exacto knife on the opening for the heatsinks behind the IR illuminators. This mount is a remix of Codemonkey1973's ender 3 camera mount, utilizing his bracket and designing a case to work seamlessly with it. I used black ABS mainly because it was already loaded in my printer, but also because the IR illuminators do warm up slightly. PLA would likely be just fine though. I printed the bracket upside down, with the "fin" facing upwards, and the case files as they are. The back will require supports for the bracket attachment point, but no supports are needed for the front or the bracket. Some M3 hardware is required: 6pcs M3 x 15mm bolts (2 for the bracket, 4 for the case). Before assembly, slowly work the screw in for the bracket attachment point and allow it to cut the threads. Going too fast could cause it to split. On February 6th, I added an improved version of the case that removed the need for M3 nuts and changed the 4pcs M3 x 20mm bolts to 4pcs M3 x 15mm bolts in this "improved" version. This simplifies the hardware needed to just 6pcs M3 x 15mm bolts for everything, giving it a more refined appearance. A few more improvements will be made in the coming week. On February 9th, I added a version of the case backing with the Raspberry Pi logo and adjusted the heat sink opening geometry. I also plan to add a small window for the LED indicator that shows whether the IR cut filter is on. On February 10th, I realized the Pi logo didn't print as planned and made some changes, uploading a new file. Your best bet is to use the plain case backing until I have verified the Pi logo prints well. Unless you just want to try it. The Pi logo will eventually print well, but your slicer settings and z offset really need to be dialed in for it to come out correctly.
