Nodal Ninja 3 kit to provide 6 degree detent
thingiverse
A fellow in the US recently requested a high-resolution image of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House for enlarging to approximately 4ft x 8ft dimensions. The standard Nodal Ninja 3 detents offer a minimum angle setting of 15 degrees, which did not meet my specific requirements. Therefore, I created this design to provide a more precise 6-degree detent. The result can be viewed here: https://flic.kr/p/WYwKkf This custom design was crafted in Moment of Inspiration (Moi3D) and printed on both a Prusa Original i3 Mk2 using PETG and a Kodama Trinus. Simplify3D slicer was used for the Trinus, while Prusa Slic3r was utilized for the Prusa Original i3 MK2 4-color print. A durable material is essential for the detent plate and pin, with PLA being a viable option but ABS possibly not lasting long-term. The design necessitates hardware components. To bring this project to life, I employed the following parts: 7 x 3MM x 10mm button head cap screws 1 x 6MM x 35mm (under the head) socket head cap screw 1 x compression spring with a diameter of 7mm, free length of 20mm, and a solid height of 5mm. The spring has six full turns and a wire diameter of 0.5mm. A brief video showcasing this project is available here: https://youtu.be/JPQH2QBTUew
