Noctis is a premium ergonomic gaming mouse which integrates skeleton mouse aesthetics with flowing ergonomic design lines to create a compelling piece that mixes functional and sculptural beauty.Meaning Night in Latin, I chose to use darker tones that would contrast the subtle blue and accent colors found throughout the design.This design is ideal for showcasing polyjet technology and Keyshot integration with the use of multimaterial textured grips integrated into the top. Using the other side of the mouse for showcasing graphics is also utilizing the full color opportunities of the system. Wood Texturing provides complex organic material rendering. Clear light pipes and semi opaque mouse ball showcase the advantages of VeroClear/ UltraClear integration. Finally, Decals and font text found throughout the mouse give it realism and added complexity that is easily puled off with poly jet full color printing.To add further realism, this design allows you to integrate real life hardware via screws and bolts, so this polyjet design can look and feel like the real thing. My process to come up with this shape started from a scan that I took of an existing mouse I owned, and followed ergonomic and scaling queues to explore sculptural lines and flowing surface to catch the eye, making sure to create elements on the design that captured all elements of polyjet implementation and advantage.I enjoy skeleton Mice, as well as design that looks larger than life, making the design look like a vehicle or craft.
