The Coney Island Scan-A-Rama booth debuted my new scanning rig, the Scan-O-Tron 3000, at Danbury Makerfaire on June 8, 2013. Utilizing ReconstructMe and an Xbox Kinect, the scans were praised for their beauty. In the future, I plan to open source my scanning plans and launch a Kickstarter campaign for Scan-A-Rama. This innovative 3D portrait studio combines amusement park portraiture with 21st-century technology and aims to appear at MakerFaires and Coney Island throughout 2013. When printing, a layer height of .27 or .1 mm without support is recommended, with minimal post-processing needed to achieve an impressive result.
