No Tangle Tieout Cover
thingiverse
This accessory fits snugly over a tieout stake to prevent tieout cable from getting tangled around it. As tension builds, the cable should slide effortlessly up and over the cone, ensuring a smooth operation. The design accommodates most tieout stakes, with dimensions of 4 3/8" in height, 1 3/4" at the top inside diameter, and 6 1/2" at the bottom inside diameter. My initial prototype lacked the four stake holes, requiring me to drill them after printing. The updated design now includes these holes with added reinforcement for extra durability. Thankfully, my prototype has been performing well, rendering the need for a revised print unnecessary.
Easy Installation
Thread tieout cable(s) through the top of the cone and secure it to the tieout stake. Fit the cone over the stake until it rests on the ground, taking note of the four smaller holes. Next, insert L-shaped tent stakes into these holes; I used old Coleman tent stakes for this purpose. Ensure the stakes are positioned near their desired locations before pressing them down evenly. This should secure the cone firmly to the ground. Be prepared for a bit of challenge if you're working with sandy or rocky terrain.
