No Spill (reduced spill) Cup Holder - The Gumbal
thingiverse
Here it is finally the "Gumbal" an all-terrain 3D printed cup holder where you only need three 608zz bearings (skateboard wheel bearings). Everything snaps together no glue necessary. Although a good CA glue is recommended for longevity on the joints. I remember seeing this same concept when I was a kid for drink holders on boats but I never saw any with bearings as the supports. I think the bearings make it much smoother and a bit stronger than all plastic like the ones I have seen. I have included quite a few different STL packages for this and numbered the files: Files 01 and 02 - Fully complete kits for assembly and can print together. You may need support for the bearing holes and base depending on how good your bridging is. All the other files are support files if you would like to print them, some are GoPro base mounts to use the cup holder with a Gopro mount wherever you would place the camera. I have also included an arm base which is pretty useful but it works for my lawn tractor and I thought someone might be able to use it for something else. All STLs are orientated in the direction that I print them, you may want supports in anything that is a complete circle or over 70 degrees angle. I use 1 mm spacing supports inside the bearing recesses and they seem to snap in fine. I recommend printing with PETG as it has some give and seems to last longer than PLA. If you have any questions on the build process, I have made a youtube video here: https://youtu.be/6k4F9g_Bhxs Keep your amps up and your filament dry!
