No more GLUE Stick
thingiverse
I have had a 3D printer for several years now and one consistent problem has been getting my prints to stick to the bed and removing them without damaging either the print or the print bead. Over time, I started with blue tape (cold), which gave me mixed results - usually okay for the first five prints but not consistently good afterwards. Hairspray was a failure on glass and even when used over blue tape. PVA wash was messy and unpredictable, causing poor bottom layers on prints made on glass, which often required hot temperatures to cure properly. Poly-carbonate sheet (cold) was also unreliable, with prints fusing to the sheet if the first layer was just slightly too low. Capton tape worked when hot but larger prints could suddenly detach, leaving smooth bottoms but poor adhesion in some cases. Glue stick, on the other hand, has been the best so far, although I still get some curling on prints 60mm or longer/wider. Then came my revelation - 3D-EEZ. After a small learning curve, I'm now getting amazing prints and believe that the rest of the print is actually better than ever before. The only drawback is that you don't get a super glass-shiny Capton bottom but it's smooth nonetheless. I recently purchased the smaller pot, which should last quite some time. Unfortunately, there is no longer a UK distributor available, but hopefully, someone will start re-selling soon.
