I recall playing with this puzzle as a kid, but it had faded from memory until my brother sent me a video and asked if I could print it on my printer. The task seemed straightforward, but I quickly realized that finding an STL for it would be no easy feat. After considerable tweaking in Fusion 360, I managed to create my own version of the puzzle. This "No Fit" puzzle was conceived by Niek Neuwahl, a renowned Dutch puzzle designer, many years ago. Its clever design makes it appear solved with five large pieces, but fitting the cube into place requires additional effort. Each individual piece is positioned as it should be without the cube, potentially giving some insight into its assembly. However, I mixed up the orientation in the "all pieces" STL file to prevent easy identification of each piece's position. The pieces are rotated 45-degrees or 90-degrees randomly to ensure that the top layer cannot provide a clear indication of their correct orientation. Once all pieces are assembled with the cube in place, they will be face-up, allowing for a smooth and accurate assembly process. Please excuse the roughness of the printed images; my prototype was created solely for testing the final fit.
