No-Face from the Bathhouse Scene in Studio Ghibli's Spirited Away

Spirited Away is one of my all-time favorite movies, evoking emotions that are simply breathtaking. Everyone can relate to the feeling of being alone, lost, and confused, only to find a true friend in the most unexpected places. The agony of losing yourself or struggling with identity issues, unsure of which path to follow, is a universal experience. The love for family and reconnecting with an old friend after years apart are just a few of the themes that Spirited Away masterfully weaves together. As one of Hayao Miyazaki's most renowned creations, this movie has become a cultural phenomenon. For more information on Spirited Away, visit http://spiritedaway.wikia.com/wiki/Spirited_Away_Wiki. Without giving away too much of the plot for those who haven't seen it yet, No-Face is a poignant character that resonates deeply. He's a lonely spirit that Chihiro lets into the bathhouse because she empathizes with his sorrowful state in the rain. This sculpture has been years in the making, and I've been hesitant to share it because it's a deeply personal expression of my own journey.
