No. 6 Battery Replica

No. 6 Battery Replica

thingiverse

Replica replacement for actual 1.5 V No. 6 batteries that are no longer manufactured. Empty container can be stuffed with 9 "C" cells all wired in parallel. It's a tight fit but can be done by using thin wires soldered directly to the batteries. Probably not quite as much current as the original, but should work for most applications. Use size 8-32 screws and nuts as the terminals. If you are replacing an actual No. 6 battery you can transfer the terminal caps from the original. Otherwise, you can print these. Use ABS. Print at 100%. Print the label on high quality glossy paper. I used Elmer's glue with lots of rubber bands to glue the label to the cylinder. Specifically, I glued one end of the label and allowed to dry (with rubber bands), then unrolled, put glue on the other end, replaced the rubber bands, and allowed that to dry. In the photo, the replica is on the left, and an actual, old No. 6 battery is on the right for comparison.
