No. 6 Battery Replica
thingiverse
Replica replacement for actual 1.5 V No. 6 batteries no longer manufactured in stores can be easily made at home. Empty containers are stuffed with nine "C" cells wired in parallel to create a reliable power source. The tight fit is manageable using thin wires soldered directly to the batteries, producing nearly as much current as the original. To complete the replica, use size 8-32 screws and nuts as the terminals. If replacing an actual No. 6 battery, transfer the terminal caps from the original for a seamless integration. Otherwise, print these components using ABS material at 100% scale. Design a label on high-quality glossy paper and apply Elmer's glue with rubber bands to secure it in place. Specifically, start by gluing one end of the label, allowing it to dry while secured with rubber bands. Once dry, unroll the label, apply additional glue to the other end, replace the rubber bands, and let it set completely. The finished replica is displayed on the left in the photo, alongside an actual old No. 6 battery for comparison purposes.
