NMR tube holder (20 tubes)

NMR tube holder (20 tubes)

This is a simple holder designed specifically for NMR tubes. It has the capacity to hold up to 20 standard NMR tubes with a diameter of 5 mm. I highly recommend printing this holder using a wide nozzle (0.8 mm) in order to achieve faster print times. Fortunately, no support material is required for this design. You can print this holder in PLA, which offers decent resistance against most solvents. However, it is extremely soluble in chlorinated solvents, particularly CDCl3. For these reasons, I strongly recommend using polypropylene (PP) as the primary material. PP boasts a high level of resistance to virtually every solvent you can throw at it. Unfortunately, PP has a tendency to warp and often fails to adhere well to most other buildplate materials, which can be frustrating to work with. To overcome these challenges, I suggest the following tips: - Apply PP tape to your buildplate for improved adhesion (standard "Tesa" packing tape is typically made from PP). - Use a brim as large as possible. - Attempt to enclose your 3D printer with some material to create an enclosed build space. For Ultimaker 2+, you can seal the front with aluminium foil or purchase a front door. For more detailed information on printing with PP, I recommend visiting ultimaker.com.
