The Monument to Nizami Ganjavi in Saint Petersburg is situated on Kamennoostrovsky Prospekt between houses 25 and 27. It was originally founded in Baku, then gifted to Saint Petersburg by Azerbaijan to celebrate the city's 300th anniversary. The sculpture was crafted by Azerbaijani sculptor Gerush Babayev, a graduate of the prestigious Saint Petersburg Art and Industry Academy. Felix Romanovskiy, a renowned Russian artist, designed the pedestal for the monument, constructed at the Petersburg-based "Kombinat-skulptura" enterprise. At the unveiling ceremony, Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, and Heydar Aliyev, then-President of Azerbaijan, were in attendance. Speaking at the event, Putin stated, "Today, we witness a joyful and solemn occasion – the dedication of a monument to Nizami Ganjavi, a prominent poet and thinker from East and Azerbaijan."
