Nixie Chess Sanding Jig

If you're working with a Nixie Chess set kit from Lasermad, check out this DIY setup. You can find it on their website at http://www.lasermad.com/shop/product/nixie-chessboard-diy-kit-nixies-included/. This simple jig makes it easy to attach the chessmen bases to your drill. It's a consistent way to sand and paint each piece smoothly. I used two grits: 500 for wet sanding, followed by 1000 for another layer of wet sanding. If you want an even higher shine, you can go up to polishing with this jig. This setup is especially helpful when you have 32 pieces to sand in total.
