Nix Digital Picture Frame Angled Mount
thingiverse
This is an angled wall mount for the Nix digital picture frames with 100x100mm square hole pattern. The mount angles the frame up and to the side. I know this is a very specific application, but it's the one I needed, so maybe someone else can use it or get ideas from it for their application. The mount has a pocket for the remote control to sit in, and the top of the remote protrudes slightly above the frame so it can be stored discretely without getting lost and easily accessed. There is a screw-in "kick stand" that comes with the frame, and this stand fits nicely for storage in one of the lightening cutouts behind the frame. Attach the mount to the Nix frame with M4x0.7 screws, length 10 or 11 mm. Hammer one nail into the wall with the nail head protruding a small amount to catch the groove on the bottom of the top mounting beam. Next, place a level on the top edge of the picture frame. Once the frame is level, mark where the second nail needs to go and hammer it in. The frame mount will rest on the nail heads. Note that the instructions in the previous paragraph require you to level the picture frame and not the mount itself. It turns out that the 2 nails will not be level due to the design but will be slightly off. I could have modified the design so that the nails would be level and the frame would be level, but I didn't put in the effort to figure out the math of complex 3D angles. So just make sure to level the frame itself and let the nails be where they need to be.
