Just a concept of a belt cooler for a small 1.2cc glow engine designed to fit an old Thunder Tiger pro 12, but it should work well with any 12 or even a 15 engine. This engine spins about 3000rpm at idle. By making the motor's pulley 23mm and the fan's pulley 10mm, we get about 6900rpm on the fan side - that's really cool! Talking of coolness, it pushes a good amount of air through the engines head, reducing the temperature by about 30 degrees celsius. For example, if the engine runs at idle with a temperature of 90C, it will be reduced to something like 60 or less. I've done an experiment that you can see in the video below - just understand Russian and you'll get it! The video will be available after January 4th. You can use a 3mm shaft and modify the parts or use a M4 bolt, like I did, making the thread ends 3mm to fit the bearings. You'll also need some bolts and nuts to mount the hole system on a platform. Here are my choices for the cooler: Belt: A simple rubber band works great. Filament: I used ABS, but you can use PLA too - just be sure it won't melt under the belt pressure. Bearings: 2 of 7x3x3 - get them from this link http://fas.st/VcZ1Y Shaft: A M4 Bolt 40mm or more will do the job.
