Nissan Leaf charge port lever
myminifactory
Some versions of the 2011-2012 Nissan Leaf used a manual lever to release the charge port flap. Sometimes the lever snaps in half, making this a 3D printable replacement opportunity. This design builds upon "Nissan LEAF 2011-2012 charge port release" by JNissi, available at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1973028. I've made several changes to his original design: Right Hand Drive - My version is designed for right-hand drive cars, whereas his is geared towards left-hand cars. I've added three smooth ridges underneath to increase strength and prevent it from snapping like the Nissan version. The holes have been bored out a bit to make movement smoother. The cable slot has been changed to be vertical so that it's easy to print. JNissi's design requires you to cut or knock out the cable slot space, which can be tedious. I've beefed up the cable nipple brackets to increase strength. A 3D printable plug icon has been added - this way you don't have to make a sticker. The icon is simplified to just a plug for easy printing and better visibility from the driver's head height. The icon was stuck onto the front of the lever using superglue. There's a hole in the lever where the icon can fit into. Two color options were tried: white icon on black lever (most similar to standard look) and black icon on white lever (lever stands out more so easier for new users or when you're looking for the lever in the dark). When installing, you'll want to add a drop of oil to the pivot points - otherwise it starts out stiff.
