Nissan Frontier Truck Bed Anchor

Nissan Frontier Truck Bed Anchor

This is an anchor for a 5/16" bolt. I used it to tie in a lumber rack. It's not going to be 1000 lbs rating but it should hold relatively well an empty 2x6 lumber rack like I have made. Then the tiedown straps will support the loaded weight. The way it works is you pop out some knockouts at the bottom of the bed (location shown in photos). These anchors have two halves which slot in. Then they are spaced with the "dogbone" shaped anchor, which has a captivated 5/16" nut, which slides in from the top, locking it in place. The sliding part is tapered so it can only go one way. This is the non-intrusive way I devised to get a relatively strong anchor in the truckbed. Printed in PLA or PETG with 100% infill on the interior face for the anchor piece (slot facing up), while dogbone was printed vertical using the only flat face. Don't use the front face of the anchor as the printing face, or the critical tab which grabs the metal may be weaker. I tugged on it a bit and it didn't break with say 50-100lbs force :)
