Small and reflective object scanning model demonstration using the Creaform EXAscan scanner and VXelements/VXmodel software. The original object is a molded plastic part with a chrome plating, measuring (D) 60mm in diameter and (H) 5.5mm in height. A scan resolution of 0.20mm was achieved, resulting in a scanned mesh consisting of 163,092 polygons. For visualization purposes, the displayed mesh has been decimated by 30%. The exported file format is stereolithography (.stl).
