Nissan air vent
thingiverse
I own a 1991 Nissan D1 (hardbody) with air vents that had given out due to age. I made both the cover and the actual vent myself. The cover clips onto the dampener but it is a tight fit to install, probably easier in warmer weather since it will soften the vinyl slightly. To make the vent itself, I aimed for a 0.25 gap between the moving parts that operate the louvers up and down, but either my printer isn't that precise or it's not enough of a gap. Vent Cover: I recommend printing the vent cover flat side down for a smoother finish without supports needed. Vent: I printed this with the adjustment handle facing upwards with supports to get a smooth finish. In the picture one is the original while the other is printed, can you tell which is which? I printed these in black PLA since it was more like a prototype, but I know it won't hold up well in heat. Now that I know it fits and looks pretty good, I will print them again in ABS or PETG for more durability. I'll post pictures of the install if you're interested. Thanks, and enjoy!
