Human: Model 27082017. The left segment of the Gran Riparo d’Archeï main panel showcases renowned paintings reproducing the striking iconography of the Niola Doa petroglyphs, first extensively documented by Faleschini et al. in 1994. A notable couple to the left features one figure donning a skirt and another adorned solely with body accessories and decorations. Both figures exhibit numerous distinctive characteristics found in the iconic pecked humans at the core of Wadi Guirchi. A direct comparison between this couple and the first two individuals on the left in the row of pecked figures depicted in the Niola Doa “Site 1” is made even more compelling by some additional matching details revealed through digital picture analysis. The spread fingers of the figure with the downwardly outstretched arm, wearing a skirt, is one such significant detail, which was not captured in earlier surveys using film photography or tracing, common features in Niola Doa iconography.
