Nintendo Switch Vangard Grip (PROTOTYPE)
thingiverse
UPDATED VERSION CAN BE FOUND HERE:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2214266\nThis is a custom joycon comfort grip for the Nintendo Switch that makes a big difference in overall controller layout by tilting joycon rails outward by 20 degrees to match standard controllers. It's designed as three separate pieces for easy printing and finishing, plus customization with different parts. Future plans include adding many more interchangeable pieces so players can create their perfect joycon grip based on comfort and style preferences.\nEveryone is encouraged to remix this design with their own ideas or suggest new features in the comments section.\nIMPORTANT NOTE: This thing has not been tested yet, and I don't take responsibility for any damage to consoles or peripherals caused by using it. If it doesn't fit right, just stop trying to force it - it's only 3D printed plastic after all.\nPrint Settings\nPrinter Brand: FlashForge\nPrinter: Creator Pro\nRafts: Yes\nSupports: Yes\nResolution: .3 mm\nInfill: 10%\nNotes:\nPrint each piece standing upright with the bottom up for added strength and smooth rails and grip. I tested this with three shells, one millimeter floor/roof thickness, and five percent infill - it's plenty strong but feels a bit light.\nPost-Printing FINISHING:\nSand the parts to make them smooth, then paint if you want. This can give it a more polished look, but be sure to mask off where the Joycons slide in and out so paint doesn't chip off or add extra thickness. I recommend using spray on rubber for the grip to improve texture.\nASSEMBLY:\nThis design uses two m3 0.5 nuts and two m3 0.5 screws, 13-16 millimeters long, to hold it together - but you can also glue it or print as one piece by tweaking the files a bit.\nSTEP 1:\nInsert two M3 0.5 nuts into the slots on the crest piece and line them up with the holes in the back.\nSTEP 2:\nFit the crest and grip into the slot on the rail section.\nSTEP 3:\nScrew two m3 0.5 screws into the holes in the back and tighten them securely.
