The first version securely attaches to the Switch's vents, providing maximum stability and preventing the device from dislodging, even under intense jostling. However, this setup may compromise the integrity of the plastic grill covering the vents, potentially leading to cracking or damage due to careless handling. In contrast, the second version features a vent hole for optimal airflow while maintaining a secure fit. Although it doesn't attach as firmly to the vents as the first option, this design is more forgiving and less prone to damage from accidental drops or bumps.
