This is a foldable controller designed specifically for the Nintendo Switch. The innovative design of the foldable joy-con controller consists of three parts: the body, left handle, and right handle. As you can see in the provided images, the handles are capable of sliding to one side and then rotating, allowing the controller to minimize its overall space when folded. The idea behind this concept was inspired by the Nintendo Switch's core philosophy of portability. This 3D model seamlessly integrates with the straps that come with the Nintendo Switch, enabling users to easily access buttons on top. The controller is engineered to be lightweight, comfortable, and provide full access to all buttons, including triggers and the button located on the right-hand side of the JOY-CON. The three individual components are designed for easy printing without any complicated shapes. Supports at the bottom of the body can be easily clipped off, as can those found in the handles. A notable observation was made that printing the body on its side minimizes support usage, making it easier to remove supports and creating a stronger structure. To achieve optimal results, it is recommended to print this design using ABS with 90% infill. For effortless insertion of the JOY-CON into the model, first attach the strap, followed by sliding the JOY-CON in place. A supplementary file has been provided for users without a strap, enabling them to still accommodate their JOY-CON within the controller.
