Nintendo Switch Dongle (Dock mod)
thingiverse
Tired of that unsightly black dock cluttering up your table? Want something more portable to take with you when you travel? This clever conversion turns the dock components into a much smaller dongle form factor. It slips neatly into the switch directly or you can use a USB-C coupler like this one as I do to connect your Switch via a cable, hiding the "dock" with your other A/V equipment. I've uploaded a "final" version of the dongle that fixed many issues with the first draft: it's even smaller, laid out better, and includes pegs for connecting the two halves. This time around, I tightened tolerances a lot, so expect to file some of the internal surfaces. I've accomplished what I set out to do with the latest version, so I probably won't be printing anymore but please comment if you have any suggestions for improvement! Print Settings: Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer: Creator Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 100% Notes: Depending on your print, the pieces' fit will vary. There are two versions uploaded: The "usbc" and "usbc-top" is loose fitting and does not have connecting pegs. I don't recommend printing this version but I've left the files up. The "final-top" and "final-bot" is very tight with connecting pegs but will probably need some internal filing. I recommend this version. Putting it together: The new v2 files I've uploaded include pegs to help with assembly. Depending on your print quality, you'll need to file the pegs down to get a smooth fit. However, filing the internal surfaces won't affect the look!
