Nintendo Switch Dock (Nested USB) Remix
thingiverse
I've added some extra STL's, these are exactly the same but with 2.5mm thick external walls instead of 1.5mm, providing a bit more strength for those who want it. I remixed Jackalopalen's Nested dock because it was the nicest and most compact one I've seen. I'm not interested in the springy dock, but the nested port is a great idea. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the board in my dock was close but clearly a different board. The holes didn't line up, it was a bit wider, etc. etc. So I started tweaking this one and have ended up with almost a complete re-draw of the top and bottom halves. Some of the changes: * All posts removed because they kept snapping off and ultimately weren't needed to hold the board in place. * I improved the strength of the USB-C out connector posts, the bits that hold the board and the USB-C mount in place. * Widened a little to allow for the (slightly) larger board. * Changed the screw holes so now it will hold an M3 nut properly, only needing a short bolt for it. * Little more support underneath the board. * Widened the LED board holders as it was too tight a fit for mine. * Removed the hole for the LED and instead used a recess on the inside (I printed mine in a luminous blue to allow the LED to shine through). There were a lot of minor tweaks to make the board fit. I wouldn't mind making the exterior shell 2mm thick, maybe even 2.5mm to provide a bit more strength. Otherwise it should be fine to print. I've included the USB mount STL file, but there have been no changes to this.
