Nintendo switch dock
thingiverse
Compact yet not overly compact take on the switch dock, dissatisfaction with current docks prompts this redesign. Requires four components: "dock", "top cover", "enclosure" and "bottom plate". The mirrored variant features USB-C and HDMI connectors on the right side of the dock, while the "top cover" is interchangeable between versions. Printed with PLA at 45% infill without supports. Required screws: M2 or 2mm: * Four with spring mechanism (includes switch) * Six for bottom plate * Two for sides Assembly: 1. Insert the "upper plate" into the "dock", two internal supporting brackets necessitate the "upper plate" be placed on top first, thick end facing supports and thin side facing notch. 2. Add original switch dock spring mechanism parts (flex cable included) to the "upper plate" and secure with four screws. 3. Attach the "dock" to the "bottom plate", fasten with two screws at bottom. 4. Place the light into small slots in the "enclosure", connect flex cables and light connector to the board. 5. Secure four screws to the "bottom plate" with some overhang, then insert boards. 6. Tighten the "bottom plate's" four screws with the enclosure. 7. Fasten the two screws connecting the "dock" and "enclosure". Notes: * The spring mechanical connector must face away from the board, blue side first. * Four 15mm screws may be required for the "enclosure" and "bottom plate". * Bottom grill on the enclosure is 50mm; feel free to drill holes for fans, ensuring they push air toward the switch's intake vent. 11/07/2018 update: Front area of dock increased in thickness. Left-side connector version added.
