Have you ever wanted to press A repeatedly, but only have a 3D printer, Arduino, and servo motor at your disposal? ### Hi Josh here again with the Nintendo Switch Button Presser * Craft recipes repeatedly in Animal Crossing * Stargaze repeatedly in Animal Crossing * I made this because of Animal Crossing, really! Works in handheld and dock mode when JoyCons are attached. Some assembly required. # Parts * Printed Nintendo Switch Button Presser: motor mount and arm * Arduino with 4 free digital output pins and 5v power * Elegoo 28BYJ-48 ULN2003 5V Stepper Motor + ULN2003 Driver Board or equivalent * 2x M4 screws * 2x M4 nuts # Hardware 1. Bolt the stepper motor to the mount using the M4 parts, screw facing shaft-side. 2. Pressure-fit arm onto stepper motor shaft. 3. Optionally put a 10 mm furniture coaster sticker on the end of the arm, where the button will be pressed. 4. Wire the Arduino to the stepper motor & controller board as seen in Thing photo. # Firmware 1. Open the attached .ino sketch file in Arduino IDE. 2. In Arduino IDE: Sketch -> Include Library -> Manage Libraries... Then search and install accelstepper (currently 1.59.0). 3. Customize parameters like presses per second, maximum presses. 4. Upload sketch file to program the Arduino. # Push my buttons already! 1. Clip the mount onto the top of the Switch (a little groove guides it to sit between the console and the right JoyCon). 2. Move the arm into position above the button. 3. Go to the part of the Switch game that requires button pressing. 4. Power Arduino and stepper motor assembly (5v USB or power supply). 5. Sit back and relax. # What to expect * About two button pushes per second max (configurable to be slower). * Crafts Fish Bait in Animal Crossing: New Horizons in about 12 seconds (about 8 minutes for a full inventory).
