Nintendo Switch Arcade Cabinet (Laser Cut) I decided to take a shot at creating a mini Nintendo Switch Cabinet for Maker Faire. This is my initial mockup, and I'll be refining it as I wait for Maker Faire to arrive. The cabinet will be made from 3/16" material, which I've been using extensively in my prototypes with Elmer's Foamboard. It costs around $3.00 for a 20"x30" board at Target or Walmart and cuts beautifully on a laser cutter. Here are the updates I've made to the design: May 15th, 2017 - v0.1.5: I added a back brace and front lip to keep the Switch in place without needing the kickstand. June 1st, 2017 - v0.1.6: I tweaked some areas to reduce the gaps between the parts. The cabinet survived a trip to Megacon 2017 without any issues. June 17th, 2017: I updated the SVG with the correct DPI. It turned out that the AI file was fine, but the SVG had the wrong DPI, which caused a 20% size reduction. Laser Cut Files: To ensure everything fits together properly, you'll need to use either 5mm wood or 3/16" Foam Board. Here are the dimensions for each piece in inches: * Back: 7.4444 x 8.606 * Base: 7.4375 x 4.1339 * Braces: 7.4514 x 1.977, 7.0866 x 0.6481 * Control Panel: 7.4526 x 3.3252 * Marquees: 7.4549 x 1.977 * Sides: 7.7643 x 10.3895 * Top: 4.8819 x 7.4514
