Nintendo Gamecube Controller Independent D-Pad

Do you love the Gamecube controller but hate the rocking d-pad that comes with the stock controller? Does it infuriate you when you play combo-heavy games like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and the game detecting a diagonal input instead just because your finger wasn't in the exact perfect spot? Then the Gamecube Independent D-Pad or GCIDP for short is perfect for you. The GCIDP is a replacement d-pad for the Gamecube controller, mimicking the independent d-pad as seen on Playstation controllers and thus allowing easier gaming. !! WARNING !! Doing this mod requires you to disassemble your controller, which will void your warranty on your official Nintendo Gamecube controller. Install the mod at your own discretion. I cannot be held accountable if you break your controller by doing this mod. Print Settings Printer Brand: Creality Printer: CR-10 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: Any Filament: AzureFIlm PLA Grey Notes: The GCIDP is designed in a way that doesn't require supports. The buttons don't need to be reoriented, but the base needs to be placed on its flat side (without the cylindrical extrusion). Post-Printing ============= Parts to print: 1x GCIDP Base 4x GCIDP Button Tools required: A screwdriver with a tip matching the screws on your controller A container to put screws and parts in Instructions: First, unscrew the 6 screws on the back of your controller and put them in the container so you don't lose them. Take the back half off and put it aside. Inside will be the controller's PCB. If it's held by Phillips head screws, use a small enough Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew them (if you do, put the screws in the container). Carefully take off the PCB and set it aside. On the bottom right will be a circular rubber pad; take the rubber pad off to get to the original d-pad and take it out. Put the 4 GCIDP Buttons into the GCIDP Base (there is only one way that they go in, you cannot make a mistake). Then, put the whole GCIDP unit where the original d-pad was and cover it with the rubber pad. Reinstall the PCB (screw it in if needed - be careful with the cable), put the back half on and screw in the original screws. If you followed the instructions, then congratulations, you've successfully installed the Gamecube Independent D-Pad. Category: Video Games
