Nintendo 64 controller, Joystick for thumb button
thingiverse
This is a custom joystick made for the thumb button on a Nintendo 64 controller. While I was visiting my family for the holidays, my nieces and nephews pulled out their old Nintendo 64 console. My sister-in-law wanted to play PacMan, but she and I both had trouble using the small thumb buttons on the controllers. Now we don't have to struggle... we have a joystick. If you manage to print the pins smoothly, it should snap together neatly and fit snugly around the thumb button. To assemble the joystick, you'll need two of the joystick halves and two of the pins. I designed this custom joystick using the following parts: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:45737 The settings for printing the Joystick halves are: Layer thickness/height - 0.18mm (0.2mm should also work) Build plate temperature: 87 degrees Celsius Extruder temperature: 220 degrees Celsius 50% infill Supports for the internal snap holes and button area. I had some trouble getting the connector pins to stick because of their small size, but they printed quickly and used minimal filament. The settings that worked for me were: Layer thickness/height - 0.12mm Build plate temperature: 90 degrees Celsius Extruder temperature: 220 degrees Celsius 100% infill No supports Note that these print settings are for a glass build plate. I printed this custom joystick on my FlashForge Creator Pro with the following settings: Resolution: 0.18 Infill: 50%
