<h2>Special Request:</h2> I invested considerable time designing, prototyping, and refining this so if you find it helpful I'd greatly appreciate a few dollars using the Tip Designer functionality if you can afford it! <h2>Version 2 Updates:</h2> <ul> <li><b>Ready to Print:</b> For the prints that require supports (mainly the top sections), I have included files with built-in supports. Alternatively, you can opt for the versions without integrated supports.</li> <li><b>Redesigned Handles:</b> Rather than my entirely homemade grips, these handles are based on traditional first-party controller designs</li> <li><b>Retaining Lip:</b> The new grip will enable you to securely slide the bottom of the 2DSXL into it, holding it firmly in place so you won't have to worry about the unit falling out of the grips.</li> <li><b>Securing Latch:</b> There is now a latch that can be turned to prevent the unit from sliding out of the grips once it's in place, although this may not be necessary but could offer enhanced peace of mind.</li> </ul> <p><b>Assembly Note:</b> In order to get the keying oval and cylinders to fit within their inlays you'll likely need to take a knife and trim off or sand down the excess "lip" (flashing/elephant foot) that appears around the bottom of the print where it touches the print bed.</p> <h2>Original Notes:</h2> My first custom-designed practical print! Please let me know your thoughts and if you have any comments/suggestions for improvement. I struggled to come up with a design that would securely fasten the 2DSXL to the grips while also allowing it to close, so I decided to retain the 2DSXL's folding ability. Honestly, a couple pieces of scotch tape keep it in place very well if you play vertically like I do. Conversely, once I've finished painting the model I'm going to attempt to apply a layer of silicone for a non-slip coating that will hopefully secure the 2DS in place.
