Ninjaflex Geared Ultimaker 2 Feeder

IMPORTANT: A CRUCIAL GEAR WAS MISSING! AXLE GEAR IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD AMONG THE OTHER PARTS, IT'S ESSENTIAL TO GET THE DESIGN WORKING PROPERLY! Although not as straightforward as other solutions, this feeder is surprisingly reliable once you get the parts working correctly. The principle is simple: increasing contact surface with the filament, utilizing rubber wheels to pinch it without crushing or biting it, and in conjunction with gears ensures that all components move harmoniously together. As implied by its name, you need to print two rubber-zigzag wheels on ninjaflex or similar rubber-like material, as they grip perfectly and fit snugly over the main gears. The 2 primary gears receive 2 bearings each, while the 3rd gear gets one bearing. I've tried with fewer bearings but the gears tilted and didn't work well. I've included affordable sources for the bearings. The only modification needed to get this working is to set the steps per E setting of the UM2 to 237 using Pronterface or your preferred software (M92 E237 on Pronterface). You can skip drilling holes for the two uppermost screws, but I strongly recommend doing so as it improves reliability significantly. I've also included the flipped body and cover, which is what you see in the pictures, but this involves cutting part of the left side body acrylic of the printer and uploading new firmware to invert the extruder stepper motor direction (#define INVERT_E1_DIR true on Marlin's Configuration.h file). I can remodel the body to use the stock bowden adapter if someone expresses interest. This design is based on: https://0x7d.com/2014/07/improved-ultimaker-2-material-extruder/.09-01-2015 - UPDATE: Added 3_body_bowden.stl model, so if you don't want to use the 1/8" fitting print this one. I haven't had a chance to test it yet, so please let me know through the comments how it works.
