Ninjaball
thingiverse
I designed this Buckyball and brought it to life with a Makerbot Replicator (5th Gen) using Ninjaflex. It's been exciting to experiment with printing them out of PLA, too, which yields an incredibly clean part, but who wouldn't love the tactile experience of holding a squishy one? Instructions Ensure that one of the hexagonal faces is aligned flush with the build plate by rotating the .stl file 90 degrees about the x axis. With this orientation, printing can proceed without any need for support. When using Ninjaflex, remember to keep the feed rate relatively slow – I've found that 20 mm/s works beautifully. Alternatively, you can stick with default settings on the MakerBot when working with PLA and still achieve stunning results.
