
Nimble Gimbal For 2020 Delta Frame

I saw slonold's Nimble Gimbal and liked the Idea. Slonold did a great job on his design, but I needed to modify it for my own application. First, I wanted to make the arms wider at the bottom so they would fit perfectly on a 2020 aluminum extrusion beam. To do this, I increased the size of the M3 holes to M4, knowing it was a bit overkill. Next, I had a dozen 624 bearings and wanted to utilize them all. So, I enlarged the bearing housing to accommodate the larger 13mm x 5mm bearing size of the 624's. This modification also allowed me to use four bearings instead of two in the original design, which was another unnecessary step. Here are the necessary supplies: I need to print one set of arms and one extruder_mount_bracket. Additionally, I require six M4 x 16mm bolts, four for the arms to bolt to the 2020 beam and two for the bearings. Four M4 x 20mm bolts are also needed for mounting the Zesty Extruder Motor mount to the gimbal bracket. I will need eighteen M4 flat washers: eight for the four bolts that mount the Zesty Motor mount to the gimbal bracket (optional), four for the M4 bolts that attach the arms to the 2020 beam (optional), and six for the M4 bolts that make up the two bearing assemblies. Six M4 nylon lock nuts are also required, with four for the Zesty motor mount to gimbal bracket and two for the arms to gimbal bracket. Four M4 'T' nuts will be needed for the M4 bolts that attach the arms to the 2020 beam. Finally, I need four 624 size bearings. Assembly Instructions: First, assemble the bearings by using one M4 x 16mm bolt, three M4 washers, and one nylon lock nut. Place a M4 washer onto the bolt, followed by a 624 bearing, then another M4 washer, and finally a second 624 bearing. Next, slide in the third M4 washer and lastly the nylon lock nut. Tighten the bearing assembly securely. Repeat this process to create another bearing assembly. Now, take one bearing assembly and insert it into the bearing housing on the motor bracket button head first. Do the same for the other bearing assembly.
