I recently received my Nikon 18-140 kit lens, only to discover it lacked a lens hood. Failing to find a suitable replacement on Thingiverse, I decided to design one myself. Two years ago, I printed an original black version of this accessory using my Mendel Max in ABS at 0.06mm layer height. Eager to test its performance, I recently printed a yellow version on my Ender 3 at 0.2mm layer height. The results were impressive, with the part fitting perfectly without any adjustments required. To ensure optimal settings and accuracy, I also designed a calibration print featuring just the lock mechanism. This allows users to verify their settings and generate a part that meets the precise tolerances necessary for a secure fit.
