Nikon Hot Shoe Cover Tested and fits the D5300 hot shoe flawlessly. Designed from scratch based on a proven design found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11744 by TheCase, I am using this as a foundation for another innovative project to bounce light using a white card or piece of paper. The idea struck while searching for printable Nikon accessories and stumbling upon http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12761. Unfortunately, it failed to clear the flash properly, so I've decided to create my own custom solution. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: None required Supports: Not necessary Infill: Set at 25% How I Designed This I discovered that the bottom layers may not meet the tolerance of the shoe due to excess plastic from the first layer. A simple fix is using a razor to shave off the excess. Everything else fits perfectly on the D5300. The CAD was created using Fusion360 with precision and care.
