Nikon F ring to T2 (M42x0.75 thread) Rev 6
thingiverse
I tried CodexNecro's build first, which was a remix from another design, but my prints were plagued by Elephant's paw and the thread was unusable. I also don't like using plastic threads frequently, so I shortened CodexNecro's build by 5mm and added an aluminum 5mm spacer. This way, when I install this on my telescope, I use the aluminum thread. Next, I increased the thread size by 1% to make it easier for the aluminum spacer to thread in. Finally, I split the build into two pieces so if the bottom thread is deformed, I can still use the top thread. Here are the instructions: 1. Print the two parts separately. 2. Assemble the threaded part with a 5mm spacer. If assembly is difficult, try the other side of the threaded part. 3. Glue the threaded part to the mount part using cyanoacrylate. I used a paper binder to hold them together while the glue was drying.
