The cover serves two main purposes: It can be used as a basic camera body cover to prevent dust from accumulating on your camera mirror or lens, safeguarding your equipment against damage. This innovative option utilizes the principles of pin-hole photography to capture unique and intriguing images. Having access to a 3D printer allowed me to create my own custom camera body cover without compromising my original equipment. I opted for this solution instead of risking damage to my camera's cover. To produce your own camera body cover, you will need to download and incorporate the library found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1092611. This design is highly customizable, making it adaptable to various camera models by simply modifying the model dimensions to fit your specific needs. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: MakerFarm i3V 10 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.25mm or less Infill: 20-25% Notes: If you have black filament, I recommend printing the body cover using it to avoid additional painting steps. If not, you will need to apply black spray paint. Post-Printing: Spray paint the entire cover black to ensure minimal light penetration. Using black filament is highly recommended for this step. Attach a piece of aluminum foil to the inside of the cover and perforate it with a small pin to create a precise pin hole. The size of the pin will determine the amount of light that enters the camera, affecting the overall image quality. Finally, paint both the exterior and interior of the cover black for optimal results. Before and after painting, you can observe the transformation of your camera body cover into a fully functional pin-hole camera.
