Nikon Eclipse Ti2 Light Shield
thingiverse
*Light shield* designed explicitly for a Nikon Eclipse Ti2, attaching directly to the lens barrel with precision. Unlike the original "light shield", this accessory completely blocks light from all sides, allowing operation in a fully lit environment. It can be left permanently attached and even when installed at its lowest possible position does not significantly reduce the moving plate's range of motion. **Materials Needed** * M6 tap * PET is recommended for collars (inner and outer rings) * A strongly black material should be used for the shade **Printing Requirements** Print all parts with a 0.4 nozzle and 0.2 layer height (or lower). **Assembly Instructions** Use the M6 tap to thread the hole on the outer collar. Insert the screw and ensure it can move smoothly throughout the entire thread. Align the tip of the screw with the inner side of the collar. Bend the inner collar with your fingers as shown above. While keeping the inner collar bent, insert the shade. Then insert the outer collar and release. Ensure the screw is aligned with the slit on the inner collar. Lift the lens head on the confocal and insert the assembly directly on the lower barrel, larger diameter section. The lens barrel should still protrude by roughly 2cm and hold by itself. Tighten the screw to avoid further movement. Only minimal tension should be used.
