Nikon DSLR Camera to microscope ISO photo tube adapter.

All of the details, basic theory, and how-to's are in this blog posting: http://www.siliconsombrero.com/2018/04/28/scopecam/ This adapter connects a Nikon F-mount camera to a standard 38mm ISO photo tube port. 38mm ISO ports are found on older microscopes such as Nikon, Zeiss, Leica, and others. This version is specifically designed for a Nikon SMZ-2T with a Nikon 1x/16 relay lens, available used on eBay. It is parafocal and works well. The adapter will fit other microscopes with 38mm ISO ports, but the length may need to be adapted for other models or relay lenses to work properly with zoom changes. Read the blog posting above to find out how to get this distance for your setup! This adapter won't work without a relay lens, eyepiece, or suitable lens in the photo port - a relay lens is preferable. The pictures shown were taken with a Nikon D3300, Nikon SMZ-2T, Nikon 1x/16 relay lens, and this adapter. With the 1x relay lens and APS-C sensor, there's "vignetting" - the field of view is smaller than the picture area. A relay lens with greater magnification or a smaller sensor would create a cropped, full-frame image. My desk may be messy.
