Nikon Coolpix W300 lens cap
thingiverse
I bought the Nikon Coolpix w300 for caving because it's waterproof and rugged, but I knew the camera would get extremely dirty and muddy during the trip. The lens was exposed, which really worried me. Since I'd be all muddy too, I wouldn't be able to clean the lens area. So I decided to print out a lens cap. The problem was that there was no way to "grip" it like normal, so you could just use an elastic band of sorts wrapped around the camera instead. The cap is a bit smaller than the camera lens area because I wanted to put a seal on it, so mud wouldn't seep in. I used a glue gun to put a seal around the oval shape. You can also use epoxy as long as it dries "rubbery". Update: Just added a version that lets you use a continuous band instead of sewing separate pieces together like I did.
