I diagnosed something broken in the lens after a lens zoom jam and a pretty wobbly focus barrel. Facing a couple hundred dollars for a replacement, I wondered if it could be repaired and sure enough, these little guide bushings are a common problem that usually just slip off but one of mine was completely broken with pieces rattling around within the lens. If only I had access to a machine that could make small custom plastic parts. It took a few tries to get a good print lower the temperature and crank up the fan on account of the very small size. After a little finishing up with a fine Dremel attachment, it fits and glides in the lens which once again has a buttery smooth zoom and a crisp autofocus.
