The Nikolaus Lenau Monument stands proudly on Vienna's vibrant Schillerplatz, situated within the heart of the city's 1st district. Perched atop a high stele, the striking bust of Nikolaus Lenau commands attention, while the pedestal below is adorned with a putto and a sphinx. Crafted by Karl Schwerzek in 1891, this monument bears an uncanny resemblance to the Anastasius Green Monument. As a prominent Austrian poet and writer, Nikolaus Lenau left an indelible mark on literary history between 1802 and his untimely passing in 1850.
