The Coney Island Scan-A-Rama is an innovative 21st century portrait studio that utilizes advanced technology, such as ReconstructMe and the Xbox Kinect, for 3D printing. Debuted at Danbury Makerfaire on June 8th, 2013, it was also the public launch of the Scan-O-Tron 3000 scanning rig, which produced stunning results. The creator is preparing to initiate a Kickstarter campaign for Scan-A-Rama and will be open sourcing the plans. Keep an eye out for this popup studio at various MakerFaires and in Coney Island throughout 2013. For more information or to order prints, visit http://www.thegreatfredini.com/scan-a-rama. When printing, a layer height of .27 or .1 mm is recommended without support; any hanging plastic may need trimming but the final product will be impressive.
