Nightwing LED Sign

Nightwing LED Sign

thingiverse

This is a Nightwing sign intended to have LED strips put inside. It is roughly 37cm tall and 58.5cm wide. The raised and sections are to allow for two strips in each section so that the top and bottom of the wing (left and right of the head) are able to be different colors or have different lighting patterns. It is cut to fit an Ender 3 print bed, though you may need to disable exclusion zones in programs like Cura. If you disable these zones you need to use something other than the default binder clips for the bed. I use a magnetic bed so its irrelevant on mine. I'm using WLED on an ESP32 to control the light strips. An ESP01 should be more than enough to control the amount of LEDs in this, but I've found them to be a little unreliable and would like this to be reprogramable without the need to open it up. ESP01's require a programming board, so that eliminates it for me. The light strips I'm using are BFT-Lightings WS2812B strips. I like the level of brightness and the colors it produces, as well as the ability to cut between each LED. WARNING: Make sure you adjust the brightness to your LEDs so that they wont get too hot during long runs. I've had LED strips get well hot enough to soften many plastics, and possibly even be a fire hazard. This is 100% on you to make safe.
