A nightstand lamp and box feature a design that will soon be transformed into a chess set case, complete with an 8x scale model pawn-shaped lamp. The electronic components are sourced from adafruit.com (http://www.adafruit.com/products/678), and the lamp's color can be controlled remotely as demonstrated in this video: http://youtu.be/-3IqRemyeCU. For better opacity, print the top at higher temperatures. Assembling the LEDs is easier when wound around the inner neck outside of the top before fastening. To ensure replaceable and disassemblable parts, secure the inner neck with velcro instead of glue.
