NightLight Saber
thingiverse
May the Force be with you! I've always thought my night lights were lacking excitement... With May 4th just around the corner, I decided it's time to give mine a makeover and turn them into something more thrilling. There are two designs for you to choose from, both unique but similar in style, so as not to raise any legal concerns. If you'd like to see more ideas or want to create your own, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments! The night lights I've used are the Maxxima MLN-16 LED Plug-in Night Light with Auto Dusk to Dawn Sensor and can be purchased from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IXWYR42/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Print Instructions: 1. The Saber Base parts will require support. 2. I recommend printing in a dark color and painting; I printed in white, but the light shone through, so it was best to paint over it. 3. Print the Blade in "Vase Mode" or as CURA calls it "Spiralize Outer Contour." You can increase the Z for a longer blade. Build Instructions: 1. Remove the clear plastic by sliding it off. 2. Take out the top ring; it also slides right off, but you might need pliers if it's too tight. 3. Remove the Phillips screw and the front panel will come loose. 4. I taped my electronics to the back part, but you can glue them in place instead; this way, they won't slide out when you plug it in. 5. Insert your blade part with the open end facing the light and the closed end at the top for a better effect. 6. Simply slide the NightLight Saber into its holder and plug it into the wall. Edit 5/16/19: Some users have reported slicer issues with the Red Saber base, so I've edited the file to hopefully resolve this problem.
